Polished stainless steel.
With a superb highly polished finish, the Commander Stainless Steel and Polished extinguishers are perfect for areas where appearance is important. Stainless steel handles – now standard across this range – complement the polished bodies perfectly.
Stainless steel is one of the most corrosion-resistant metals known, as well as being very strong. This makes these units amongst the toughest available. Every individual part is corrosion-resistant, and the units are proven to last in even the harshest of environments.
The ultimate in luxury, polished gold extinguishers don’t just blend into their surroundings – they look part of it. Whether you are fitting out a stately home, a boutique office to a castle!
Not to be confused with some retro-fit wrap on a standard extinguisher, these are electro plated to give a stunning mirror finish.

Most common fire extinguishers
Water – Class A Fires: for use on wood, paper & textiles.
Water extinguishers still remain a popular choice for Class A fire risks, with the low cost price and ease of maintenance, refilling and end-of-life disposal. And, with increasing emphasis on environmentally friendly extinguishers, water extinguishers are unbeatable. The new Compact34 6L Water with Additive unit has greater knockdown properties and higher performance than standard water units – it packs a class-leading 34A fire rating into a compact 6L size, making it easy to handle and operate. All these models are Kite marked and have passed the 35kVa dielectric conductivity test.
Foam – Class A & B: suitable for wood, paper, textiles & flammable liquids.
Foam extinguishers are always an excellent choice for Class A and B risk areas. The high knockdown compared with water units makes them very effective on Class A fires, whilst also able to cover for Class B risks. The newly-developed EnviroFoam units are true market leaders. With an environmentally-friendly foam concentrate, they also boast extremely high performance – 34A 233B on the 9L model. All these models are Kite marked, and the 6 and 9L units have passed the 35kVa dielectric conductivity test. The FS9E 9L unit is also MED “Ship’s Wheel” approved. With a new design strong plastic base skirt and brass valve assemblies, these units are high performers in even the most harsh conditions.
Co2 – Class B & Electrical: safe for use on flammable liquids and live electrical equipment.
Carbon Dioxide extinguishers are a perfect choice for Class B flammable liquid fires, and being non-damaging to electrical equipment and machinery they are a great choice for electrical risk fires. Both 5kg models have a best-in-class 89B fire rating. All models have high quality CE marked brass valve assemblies with very strong handles. All models come with a double-wall frost-free horn (2kg units) or a high quality ‘safe-hold’ hose & horn assembly (5kg units). The CO5E 5kg model has MED ‘Ship’s Wheel’ approval. All extinguishers British Standard kite Marked.
Wet Chemical; Class A & F, safe for wood, paper, textiles and Cooking oils.
Wet Chemical extinguishers provide specialist cover for deep fat fires. Burning oil presents a significant challenge for fire fighting due to the extremely high temperatures involved. Wet Chemical works by the process of saponification – the chemical reacts with the burning oil and forms a thick ‘crust’ over the top of the oil, preventing any recurrence of the fire.
The Commander EDGE model is supplied with a specially-designed hose, rather than a lance. This provides the operator a greater level of safety – the lance means that you have to stand very close to an extremely hot fire, but the hose assembly used here allows the operator to stand further away and still effectively fight the fire.
This extinguisher has a 13A 75F fire rating, and is Kite marked to BS EN3.
Dry Powder – Class A, B, C & Electrical: Safe for wood, paper, textiles, flammable liquids, gas & Live electrical.
Dry Powder is a multi-purpose extinguishing medium with excellent knock-down properties. The low minimum operating temperature makes them suitable for all-year external situations. A wide range of sizes is available, including 1kg, 2kg, 4kg, 6kg and 9kg. The 1 and 2kg models come with transport brackets that have a stainless steel centre strap. The 4, 6 and 9kg units have a new ‘super-strong’ base skirt. All models are Kite marked and have CE marked brass valve assemblies. And if that’s not enough, the entire model range has MED ‘Ship’s Wheel’ approval!
CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN WHEN USING DRY POWDER EXTINGUISHERS, IF USED IN A CONFINED SPACE OR IN AREAS WHERE THERE IS A LOW CEILING IT CAN REDUCE VISIBILITY AND CAUSE BREATHING PROBLEMS.
ALWAYS SEEK PROFFESIONAL ADVICE FROM FIRECHECK UPON THE USE OF DRY POWDER WHEN SITING THESE IN YOUR PREMISES.
Water Mist – Class A, F & Electrical: Safe for wood, paper, textiles, cooking oils and live electrical.
Our water mist extinguisher can be used on A, B, C type fires and on live electrical equipment, as it is tested up to 35000 Volt and only contains de-ionised water, which cannot conduct electricity. It even has an F (deep fat fryer fires) rating. The units are ideal for offices, offices, nurseries, schools, churches, HMOs, smaller kitchens and areas where a messy discharge would be a problem. They are, of course, also perfect as general household extinguishers.
